52 letters in 2018 (week 3): Go local
Week 3 (January 15-21): Send a postcard from your community.
Last week I took a lunch break on a pretty afternoon and walked with a friend down to the NC Museum of History gift shop. I frequently run past the windows and notice the display of North Carolina-related postcards, and I was not disappointed.
I’m especially fond of the retro postcards and I picked up a stack of them. This week, the writing challenge is to mail a postcard from your community, which could be a souvenir postcard or you can expand out that definition for whatever inspires you. Maybe it means a postcard from a local book store, college, or visitor’s center. For example, I found several Raleigh-related cards in a downtown gift shop, Deco, this week, too.
And this week, I’m giving you a two-fer so you can get a jump start on next week’s letter-writing challenge, which may require a trip to the post office for special postage. See part two for Week 4 (January 22-28).
